Product inspection

Random Inspection (RI)

Random Inspection (RI) is a traditional quality assurance, aims to examine the product quality on finished goods. It could be conducted at initial production, during production, and before shipment.

RI covers below aspects:

  • Quantity Check – to count the finished/packed quantity against PO/ Packing List / booking requirements
  • Sample comparison – to compare the mass products against client provided approval sample
  • Workmanship check – to check the appearance per sampling plan, AQL and defect classification standards
  • Product specification verification – to verify if the product is following client’s requirements including master carton, shipping marks, inner packing, labeling & marking, product itself, etc.
  • Data measurement – to measure the data against the specification, marks, and instructions, etc
  • On-site tests – to perform meaningful tests per client's requirements and international standard, including safety, functionality, reliability & durability, etc.

Container Loading Supervision (CLS)

Container Loading Supervision (CLS) is aimed to verify which products and how many products are loaded into the container and monitor the loading process to evaluate if the products inside the container will have no chance to be damaged during the transportation.

CLS covers below aspects:

  • Loading information
  • Loading condition
  • Loading process
  • Product verification

Production Monitoring (PM)

Production Monitoring (PM) is designed to evaluate when the orders could be completed, discover the problems of product and production, then take corrective actions to speed up the production and reduce the defect rate. PM covers below aspects:

  • Productivity evaluation
  • Product quality
  • Assessment of production control
  • CAPA follow-up
  • Suggestions for improvement

Sample Picking (SP)

Sample Picking (SP) is aimed to randomly select the samples at the factory, seal the package, and then send the sealed samples to client designated laboratory for testing or to client directly. The purpose is to avoid prepared samples from the factory. The service cost will be cheaper (USD150 per man-day), however it is free if there is another inspection at the same factory. SP covers below aspects:

  • Sampling information
  • Product information
  • Sealing process

Sample Review (SR)

Sample Review (SR) is aimed to early detect the issues of the product and avoid the disaster before mass production. KFQ can review the golden samples or prototype sample at its office or factory, focusing on fit-for-use (FFU) and marketability. SR covers below aspects:

  • Construction check
  • Safety and function

Lab testing

LVD & EMC

LVD is one of the oldest directives in EU regulations. It originated from Council Directive 73/23/EEC promulgated on February 19, 1973. As the EU member states had their own independent national standards and regulations, in order to enable the free circulation of goods in EU countries, the Council of the European Union promulgated the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC, the purpose of which is to coordinate the relevant designs of EU member states Regulations for electrical equipment within specific voltage limits. In 1993, Annex (Amendment) 93/68/EEC was added, and the implementation date was extended to January 1, 1995. The directive stipulates that all electrical products are controlled within the rated range and must abide by the terms of the directive. The directive was formally enforced on January 1, 1997. 2006/95/EC was implemented on December 12, 2006 and replaced the old version 73/23/EEC. It is still used to coordinate the regulations of the EU member states on electrical equipment designed for specific voltage limits. The Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC applies to electrical equipment whose voltage is between 50V to 1000V AC and 75V to 1500V DC. The goal of LVD is to ensure the safety of low-voltage equipment within the scope of the directive. The safety mentioned here is not simply electrical safety, but refers to the safety of all aspects of products within the LVD range, including: mechanical safety, chemistry, noise, vibration, etc.

Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (Council Directive 89/336/EEC, Electromagnetic Compacity Directive), referred to as the EMC Directive; it was revised several times in 1991, 1992, and 1993. The revised version serves as a subsidiary directive 91/263/EEC, 92/31/EEC, 93/68/EEC. The latest version of the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC was promulgated on December 15, 2004. The directive stipulates that all electronic and electrical products entering the European market must comply with relevant electromagnetic compatibility requirements and be tested and retained according to relevant EN standards report.

CE certification is a compulsory certification of the European Union. It is a necessary pass for related products to enter the EU. LVD and EMC are important directives in CE certification. Electronic and electrical products must comply with these two directives before they can be exported to the European Union.
