What are the switching rules between REDUCED, NORMAL and TIGHTENED inspections ?

Normal inspection will be used at the start of inspection unless otherwise directed by the responsible authority.

Normal -> Tightened: when 2 out of 5 or fewer consecutive lots or batches have been non-acceptable on original inspection.

Tightened -> Normal: when 5 consecutive lots or batches have been considered acceptable on original inspection.

The tightened inspection will be a little more stringent than normal inspection, I.e. AQL allowed defects will be less.

Normal -> Reduced: The preceding 10 lots or batches have been on normal inspection and all have been accepted on original inspection.

Reduced -> Normal: A lot or batch is rejected, or defects found between Ac and Re on original inspection.

The sample size for reduced inspection will be less than normal inspection.
