What added values could be provided to the customer during a Final Random Inspection (FRI)?

The main purposes of FRI is to check the quantity, check the workmanship, verify the materials & specifications, compare reference sample, do the data measurement, and perform on-site tests. As a senior inspector, more added values could be provided too.

1) Analyze the causes with the factory engineers on high defect rates, and then propose solutions to eliminate those causes, e.g. improvement on relevant workstations.

2) Review the data measured, find the variation/tolerance trends, and then determine with factory engineers if some process parameters could be adjusted to ensure the sustainable and accurate dimension.

3) Study the packing and packaging method with factory engineers to ensure the product could be sufficiently protected and avoid any damage during the handling and transportation.

4) Other possible improvements on the Fit For Use (FFU) of the product.
