Color fastness test method determines the amount of color transferred from the surface of colored textile materials and other dyed materials (i.e., leather) to other surfaces by rubbing.

The international standard for color fastness test is AATCC test method 8 (Colorfastness to Crocking: Crockmeter Method).

Test procedures employing white crocking cloth squares, both dry and wet with water, are given. Please see attached photo for testing procedures described in the standard.

During the inspection, commonly used simulation method is: No color transferred to cloth after rub 10 cycles with dry white cotton cloth and 10 cycles with wet white cotton cloth.
